The branch is scheduled to open on 9 November 2026, according to Bangor Savings Bank’s announcement. It will become the bank’s 70th branch and its 17th location in the Southern Maine region.

The new Gorham site is intended to serve residents, businesses and organisations in Gorham and the wider Greater Portland region. Bangor Savings Bank said the branch is designed to expand access to relationship-based banking and financial services in downtown Gorham.

Where Will the New Branch Be Located?

The branch will occupy 95 Main Street in Gorham, Maine, within the Hannaford Shopping Plaza. The address is listed by the bank as 95 Main Street, Gorham, ME 04038.

Bangor Savings Bank described the site as a newly renovated branch with a modern customer space and dedicated areas for financial consultations and personalised conversations. Its Main Street position is intended to make it convenient for community members and businesses in Gorham and nearby communities.

The location will also include an ATM, a coin counter and the ability to print debit cards on site.

When Will the Gorham Branch Open?

Bangor Savings Bank said the Gorham branch will open on 9 November 2026. The announcement was dated 2 November 2026 and was published under the headline “Bangor Savings Bank Expands in the Greater Portland Region with New Gorham, Maine Branch.”

Once open, the branch’s lobby hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

What Services Will Customers Receive?

Customers will be able to use Bangor Savings Bank’s full range of personal and business banking services. According to the bank, these include checking and savings accounts, mortgages, business banking solutions and financial guidance from local banking professionals.

The branch will have four offices, one of which is a private office for customer meetings and consultations. It will be staffed by six banking professionals whom the bank described as “uniquely skilled and community-focused.”

How Large Is Bangor Savings Bank’s Network?

The Gorham opening will bring Bangor Savings Bank to 70 branch locations. The bank said the new site will be its 17th branch in the Southern Maine region.

Before the Gorham opening, the bank’s website described a network of 69 retail branch locations and an extensive ATM service network across Maine and New Hampshire.

Bangor Savings Bank reported more than $7bn in assets. It offers retail and business banking, comprehensive commercial banking, cash-management solutions, payroll services and merchant solutions.

Why Is Bangor Savings Expanding in Southern Maine?

The bank framed the Gorham branch as an expansion of access to financial services and relationship-based banking in the Greater Portland region. It said the location is positioned to serve Gorham residents, businesses and organisations.

MaineBiz characterised the development as Bangor Savings bolstering its southern Maine presence through the Gorham branch.

The announcement did not disclose the cost of the branch, the size of the premises or projected staffing beyond the six-person team. It also did not state whether other nearby branches would be affected.

Background of the Development

Bangor Savings Bank is a Maine-based financial institution offering retail, business and commercial banking services. Its own announcement said it has more than $7bn in assets and provides services including cash management, payroll and merchant solutions.

The Gorham branch follows the bank’s continued expansion in southern Maine. In 2024, MaineBiz reported that Bangor Savings planned to open its first Kennebunk branch, which was scheduled to become its 69th branch overall and 61st in Maine.

The new Gorham location also comes amid broader change in Maine’s community-banking sector. MaineBiz reported that Gorham Savings Bank completed its merger with Maine Community Bank at the start of 2025, creating a bank with more than 370 employees and branches across Cumberland, Androscoggin and York counties.

Prediction: What It Means for Gorham Customers

For Gorham residents and small businesses, the branch is likely to reduce the need to travel to nearby communities for in-person banking services. Customers should gain local access to account services, mortgage discussions, business banking support and face-to-face financial consultations from 9 November.

For local businesses, the branch’s business banking services and consultation space may make it easier to manage day-to-day banking, seek financing guidance and access commercial services without leaving Gorham. The bank said the site will provide financial guidance from local banking professionals.

For the wider Greater Portland banking market, the opening adds another full-service option in a community where banking access has been shaped by both expansion and consolidation. It increases Bangor Savings’ Southern Maine footprint to 17 branches, while the bank’s broader network will reach 70 locations.
