In a shocking decision, the English government has decided to release hundreds of prisoners from jail. However, the administration led by Prime Minister Andy Burnham and Justice Secretary Alex Norris assured that the prisoners were being released under the ‘toughest supervision in British History’.
This move is part of the Sentencing Act 2026, implemented to tackle jail overcrowding. Jail overcrowding has been a serious issue in Wales and England recently.
