Today the world lost one its most treasured and talented hearts, as on the morning of August 25th Dolly parton an award winning and world respected country star died at the age of 80 in Vanderbilt University medical centre in Nashville Tennessee.

Dolly partons death sadly follows months of health concerns, as she was admitted to hospital 4 days before her unfortunate and devastating death. Dolly’s career originated at her local church in Nashville where she was making regular musical appearances, alongside her grandfather who was a preacher. By age 10 dolly progressed by learning guitar and singing on local television, from this point her legendary songwriting career began to captivate the music industry and its audience. Writing over 3000 songs for herself and other artists, dolly partons voice and songs where nothing if not timeless and feminine, writing hits such as Jolene (1973) two doors down (1977) and the 1980 classic 9-5 which accompanied the movie that dolly stared in of the same name.

Almost a decade down the road and dolly parton has continued to pursue her passion for music and make the occasional Tv appearance. In late November 2019 dolly released an anthology drama series on Netflix, called dolly partons heartstrings. According to the country legend, this series was created to tell stories inspired by her greatest hits in true country fashion, exploring themes of love, family and forgiveness, these were morals that were truly a priority of importance and health to dolly during her lifetime.

Dolly partons ongoing success built her an impressive and growing net worth of £650 million. Despite this success dolly never strayed from her humble and heartfelt Tennessean roots. By starting her own non-profit organisation, the dolly wood foundation, dolly found a way to fulfil her lifelong ambition to help and support people in ways other than her music even after she was gone. Dolly parton has funded many scholarships, hospitals and donated to flood and wildfire victims as well as donating $1 million in 2020 during covid 19 to Vanderbilt medical centre which funded the moderna vaccine.

Because of her heart, grace and bravery, dolly parton not only saved life’s but changed lives across the world and will continue to do so through her unforgettable legacy the Dollywood foundation. As a member of the grand ole Opry, a prestigious and exclusive music venue in her hometown, Nashville dolly partons music and iconic career will not be forgotten as they released a statement earlier today regarding the death of the music legend

“it is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to a true music icon, Opry member and friend dolly parton “

Dolly parton was a well-respected, kind and confident figure throughout her lifetime, impacting many lives through her foundation and diamond drenched performance’s as she spread love not only to her audience but the world. When asked for a statement Dollys family said, “she will always love you”, which although is in reference to her song “I will always love you” performed by Whitney Houston in the 1992 classic the bodyguard, is a perfect and meaningful demonstration of how much dolly parton will be missed by family, friends and fans all over the world as well as a legacy that will surely be held up by her family and friends.
